Things You Need to Know

CARRY A HIGH AMOUNT OF LIABILITY PROTECTION
My experience reveals that most serious accidents are caused by people with the least amount of insurance as low as 20,000. This gets you a few days in the hospital, if you’re really hurt you are going to need a lot of coverage. Your liability coverage is also your uninsured and underinsured coverage in Maryland. You can go against this coverage for any damage not covered by the typical lousy drunk driver.

HOW INSURANCE COMPANIES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GOD!
You are struck by someone who had a heart attack for the first time or a seizure, and no matter how badly you are hurt, the insurance company will try to get out of it.  How?  By blaming it on God.  This way they take no responsibility and then you can’t even get coverage.  Even uninsured motorist won’t cover you.  The insurance companies don’t recognize God as an uninsured driver.  If the driver was drunk and fled the scene you can recover under your uninsured coverage.  Acts of God, or acts of the devil – leave it the insurance companies to cover the devil.  Unfortunately, these are the kinds of cases that result in the worst catastrophes.  They can wipe you out and there is no protection available.

Taxis are required to have a mere $20,000.00 liability insurance and no uninsured protection or PIP.  The responsible insured pays this coverage for the taxis, but if you have the misfortune of getting injured seriously by a taxi, look out.  No one makes sure they are always covered – even for the mere $20,000.00 they’re required to carry.  If you do have to sue them you have to serve the driver, and many are foreigners that are very hard to track down.  The actual companies that appear on the cabs are not responsible because of arrangements the companies have made with the drivers to insulate themselves from responsibility.  If you’re hit by an uninsured while in a taxi, you probably will have to bring a claim against your own insurance or the uninsured fund, because taxis are not required to have uninsured protection or PIP.  You pay for it either way.  It’s hard to imagine a more favorable climate for the true cab owner.  They must be very well connected and very rich.
